Marge Korb passed away on July 3, 2020 in Columbia, SC. Born on November 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Hollis and Emma Bacon. She had one brother, Phillip Bacon. Her family moved to Sarasota, Florida after she graduated high school. Marge met Wally Korb in Sarasota while he was stationed at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. They were married on May 16, 1949 and had a loving life together for almost 67 years. Wally and Marge had four children, Michael, Willis, Patti, and Lisa. They later moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1956.
Marge enjoyed part-time work as a sales associate at Jordan Marsh. After Wally retired as a Lt. Colonel from the Air Force Reserves, he also retired as a teacher. They lived in Albuquerque, NM, Sarasota, FL, Cummings, GA, Corrales, NM, and finally, Columbia, SC.
Wally passed away on April 19, 2018 while living in an assisted living home with Marge. Marge had many wonderful caregivers including Thelma Mae Joe, LaShonda Coleman, and Mary Carter. They were a wonderful support to Marge and to the family.
In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husband Wally, her brother, Phillip Bacon, and her son, Michael Korb. Marge is survived by her daughters, Lisa Wyatt, and Patti Mason; son, Willis Korb and his wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Heather Swindle, Hollis Korb, Holly Korb Rabnott, Kelly Korb, and Kaiya Korb; great-grandchildren, Jasper Mayone and Stella Mayone; niece, Mitzi Korb and nephew, John Korb.
