COLUMBIA - Services to Celebrate the Life of Thelma Lucille Fowler, 88, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the funeral home.

Lucy passed away peacefully, Monday, February 5, 2018. She was born August 25, 1929 in Bennettsville, SC, the daughter of the late James Wilson Jones and Thelma Lee Jackson. She retired after 30 years of service from Bell South Telephone Company and was a member of the Pioneer's Club. Lucy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, along with the love of her family, she was a woman of faith and a true picture of southern grace.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John L. Fowler, Jr., sisters, Marie Proctor, Shirley Akers, and brothers, O’Neal Jones and Legrand Jones. Surviving are her daughter, Judy Fowler Grosse; a son, Johnny Fowler (Cheri); three grandchildren, Jennifer Larck (Nate), Alex Grosse, Lakyn Fowler and fiancé’ Hampton Johnson; three sisters, Rachel Jones, Grace Calhoun, Adrienne Stewart; a brother, A.W. Jones; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A reception will be held following the service at the home of Johnny and Cheri Fowler at 117 Broadmoor Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
