Linda was known by all for her caring and compassionate nature and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, writing poetry and most importantly, spending time with her family. To know her was truly to love her and she will be missed immeasurably.
Linda is survived by her children, Amber Gunn (Steven) of Gilbert, Wesley Lee Marthers Jr (Lynn) of Dillon, Cindy Baum (Michael) of Blythewood, Bruce Marthers (Deborah) of Camden; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Linda is predeceased by her late husbands, John Torbert and Wesley Marthers; a son, Van Torbert, and a daughter, Beth Marthers.
Services will be held at SonRise Baptist Church 4930 Alpine Road, Columbia, SC on February 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201.
