A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday September 7, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home - Devine Street Chapel with Reverend Dr. Terry Cagle officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
A memorial service will also be held will be held 10:30 am Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Grace Assisted Living, 518 N. 21st Ave, Caldwell, ID 83605. Burial will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, South Carolina.
Joye was born March 1, 1935, in Summerville, Georgia to the late Waldo and Tennie Reece. She was an active member of Greenlawn Baptist Church for 48 years until she moved to Caldwell, Idaho to be near her son, Rick Harmon. Joye retired from Bell South/AT&T. She enjoyed spending time and making memories at the Lake Murray house with family and friends - boating, swimming, water skiing, fishing, and cooking meals large enough that no one ever went home hungry. Joye was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished dearly her extended family and friends and embodied the spirit of her name.
Joye was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jasper E. Harmon, Jr.; brother, Jack H. Reece; and in-laws, Jasper and Lucille Harmon. Joye is survived by her son, Rick (Gail) Harmon of Cascade, ID; daughter, Sheila (Von) Conley of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandsons, Reece and Liam Conley of Myrtle Beach, SC; granddaughters, Jessie (Tim) Adams of Salem, OR, and Laura Harmon of Vancouver, WA; great-grandchildren, Nellie and Melia Wagner of Vancouver, WA, and Eloise and Finley Adams of Salem, OR; sister-in-law, Sara Reece of West Columbia, SC; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
