Brooklyn, New York - Joseph A. Stanislaus was born to the late Agatha Patrice and Samuel Stanislaus on January 17, 1939 in Carriacou, Grenada. In the early morning on March 28th 2023, Joseph died peacefully with his beloved wife Jean V. Stanislaus and all of their children by his side.
Joseph was the second of four siblings. He is preceded in death by Monica, Selwyn and Theresa. In 1969, Joseph immigrated to the United States with big dreams of starting a family and career opportunities. He later married his wife of 52 years on December 30th 1969. They were blessed with four kids - Joe, Judi, Jerry and Jennifer as well as seven grandkids- Jalisa, Jamal, Jerry II, Justin, Jayden, Jordan and Jarrod. He was also fortunate to be the father-in-law to Afinju, Marcella and Gerard.
Joseph embodies the phrase “self-made.” With his strong work ethic, he was able to put himself through college to obtain specialized training as an electrical engineer. He subsequently worked at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC for several years acquiring additional skills. Joseph was wise beyond his years and at a very young age decided to utilize his talents to work for himself and venture into real estate. Being a jack of all trades, he was able to build a successful business that provided a wonderful life and many opportunities for his children. He was the epitome of a father!
Joseph was loved by many including his nieces and nephews Carl C. (deceased), Desmond, Suzette, Carl B. (deceased), Kathleen, Rohan (Nicky) and David. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, cousins, Godchildren (total of 86) and dear friends. He was very grateful for the time spent with each of them and the impact they had on his life.
Joseph fully lived his life until he died and his memory will forever be in our hearts.
