John graduated from Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA. He joined Love Chevrolet in 1967 where he worked for 58 years. He began his career as a salesman and held many positions throughout the years. His last position was Executive Director.
He had many interests. Over the years he enjoyed drag racing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, boating on Lake Murray, driving his Corvettes, and spending time with his beloved Dachshunds.
John was associated with the Capitol City Corvette Club and conducted monthly meetings with them. He developed many wonderful friendships with the people he met through the club.
He was President of the Moss Creek Homeowners Association. He was a familiar sight in his yellow safety vest while picking up litter and helping maintain the community.
John was affectionately known as “The Legend” in the car business. He was passionate about his work and the people around him. He influenced many lives over the years as a friend and mentor. Many of those were customers he had since 1967. These customers became his friends and continued to call him throughout the years when they or their family members needed a vehicle or maybe just some good advice. He could sell as many cars from his desk as most salesmen did on the showroom floor.
John was an active member of Shandon Baptist Church for nearly 30 years and was in the Abundantly Blessed Sunday School. He made many wonderful lifetime friendships during his years at Shandon Baptist Church.
Surviving are his former wife, Barbara B. Wise of 34 years, a twin brother, Joseph Herbert Wise of Dallas, TX, nephews Troy Bradham and wife Clarisssa, Jody Bradham and wife Meredith, great niece, Journey Bradham, great nephews, Luke Bradham and Levi Bradham, all of the Atlanta, GA area. He shared a special bond with Michael Love who he considered part of his family. Michael was only five years old when John began his career with Love Chevrolet.
