His quick wit and friendly demeanor made him a great friend to those who were privileged to know him. He loved his Lord and his church, and served as deacon at Covenant Presbyterian Church. In his later years he worshiped at First Presbyterian Church. John is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Amick Rogers; four children, John Wayne Rogers (Beth) of Columbia, Shirley Rogers Cooper (Dan) of West Columbia, Robert “Bobby” Olin Rogers (Janeen) of Columbia, and Kevin Lee Rogers (Glenda) of Lexington; brother, Howard D. Ford. Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia SC at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017.
