John A. Bennett, age 79, passed away on August 22, 2023. He was surrounded by friends, his children and his beloved wife, Robin Bennett. He will be greatly missed. He was born in Atlantic, Iowa, on November 26, 1943, the son of the late William Bennett and Alice Hollen Bennett.
Jack graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He came from a poor family and rose to be a collegiate athlete, a partner with KPMG, and completed his career as an independent consultant.
Jack adored his grandchildren—Nathan, Ryan, Anna, Josh, Ethan, Trevor, Sidney and Addison. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends—especially his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish and enjoyed sharing his love of fishing with his grandchildren.
Jack loved taking care of his family, especially Robin. They loved to play golf, visit the beach, shared a love for their dogs—Duchess, Buddy and Pita, and shared lots of laughs.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, children Tracy (Mark), Jason (Tricia) and Jennifer (Tim), grandchildren Nathan, Ryan, Anna, Josh, Ethan, Trevor, Sidney, and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Alice Bennett, sisters Nancy Jean and Cindy Jo, and brother James Stewart.
A visitation for Jack will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Village Church Blythewood, 574 Rimer Pond Rd, Blythewood, SC 29016, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
