Jeannette Busby

COLUMBIA Jeannette Busby, 86, died peacefully Monday, December 29, 2014. Born in Camden, Miss., she was a daughter of the late Percy Irving and Rosa Lee Welch Busby. Following 35 years of civil service at Ft. Jackson, she retired and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia, where she was a faithful volunteer. Surviving are her nephews, Dr. Philip D. Rhine (Nancy) of Mt. Pleasant, David L. Rhine (Mary Ruth) of Cayce; niece, Jan Hutto of Elgin; several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Ida List, Joyce Rhine; nephew, Charles M. Rhine Jr.; and great-niece, Elizabeth Rhine. The family wishes to thank Agape Assisted Living and Caregivers for all their love and care. A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date. Ms. Busby will be at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, for friends and family to view and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or a charity of one’s choice.
