COLUMBIA - Jeanne W. Irwin died Saturday, September 26, 2015. Born in Huntsville, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James Lafayette “Jake” Walker and Carolyn Byrne Walker. Surviving are her daughters, Carol Irwin and Marion I. Buraczynski both of Columbia; and a spoiled grand-kitty, Baby. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Dee Wees “Bud” Irwin, III. She was a 1947 graduate of Huntsville High School and studied chemistry at Auburn University. Jeanne was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, Garden Club Council of Greater Columbia, D.A.R., D.O.C., War of 1812, Panhellenic of Columbia and LaGrange Living Historical Association in Northwest Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. All services will be private. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laura Davis for her dedicated care to their mother over the years.
