COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Janet Virginia Swing Quick, 49, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Reformation Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the chapel. Ms. Quick died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she was a daughter of Dorothy “Dot” Ketner Swing of Salisbury, NC and the late Rev. Stafford Swing. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1984 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the flag line. Ms. Quick was an artisan who loved the beach and spending time with her friends. She also enjoyed hosting parties and being an organizer and member of the CHS Class of ’84. Her friends and family knew that she celebrated life to the fullest. Ms. Quick was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Eric Quick (Denise) of West Columbia, Tyler Quick and Matt Quick, both of Lexington; four grandchildren; brothers, Paul Swing (Peggy) of St. Louis, MO and Don Swing (Maryann) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Debbie Swing of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews; and beloved poodle, Ginger.
