Jane Ryan Graham Smith

Jane was the daughter of James Ryan Graham and Lee Delle Bessinger Graham Jones. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Floyd Van Doran Smith; her son Floyd Van Doran (Van) Smith, Jr; and her daughter, Janet Lee Smith Wilson Speechley Donner. She is survived by her grandson, Richard Latham Wilson and her great grandson, Logan MacGregor Wilson. She leaves behind countless other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Jane was born in Columbia, SC, where she attended school and Park Street Baptist Church. She married Floyd in 1940 as he was beginning his military career. She described herself as an “Army wife who loved Army life.” She and Floyd loved to travel and they saw the world together during Floyd’s three decades of military service and afterward.

Jane was the very best version of a Southern lady. She was always positive, kind, thankful, grateful, and genuinely concerned about the well-being of others. She leaves a legacy of joy and optimism.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather one hour before the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.
