James W. Thompson III

Funeral services for James W. “Bill” Thompson III, 56, of Columbia, will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010. He was born October 21, 1953 in Columbia, SC to James W. Thompson Jr. and Anne Goodwin Thompson. Mr. Thompson attended Lower Richland High School, and was employed for many years in boat manufacturing. He loved fishing and music, and was an avid muscle car enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Debby Thompson; daughter, Ashley; and mother, Anne Goodwin Thompson, all of Columbia; and his sister, Susan Moll of Charlotte, NC. He was predeceased by his father, James W. “Billy” Thompson Jr.
