COLUMBIA - Jim Thigpen was many things to many people: an inspiring, award winning teacher, a talented actor and a great director. He is survived by his wife, Kay; brother, Ron Hale Thigpen; children, Erin Wilson (Laurens), Marc Brown (Betsy), and Lori Brown (Janet Brabham); and grandson, Max Brabham. There will be a memorial party at Trustus Theatre on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trustus Theatre, 520 Lady Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Please sign the online guestbook at www.dunbarfunerals.com.
