COLUMBIA - A funeral service for James Leigh “Jamie” Leventis, 31, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with Trisagion Prayers recited at 6:30 p.m. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Jamie passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017. Born on Christmas Day, 1985 in Columbia, he was a son of Leigh James Leventis and Jennifer Lanier Leventis. Jamie was a graduate of Hammond School and the University of South Carolina. He worked as a legal assistant for his dad, Leigh Leventis, at the Leigh Leventis Law Office and was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Jamie was an avid Gamecock and Carolina Panthers fan and loved playing in fantasy sports leagues. He also enjoyed watching and attending UFC matches and bowling with his dad and brothers. He was our fun loving, free-spirited child who was a great brother to his siblings and a close friend to his friends and relatives. His personality will be missed by many who he loved with all his heart. His best friends were his Mom and his Sister. In addition to his parents, surviving are his brothers, Joseph L. Leventis and Christopher L. Leventis both of Columbia; sister, Mary Katherine Leventis of Columbia; maternal grandparents, J.H. “Red” and Frances Lanier of Columbia; paternal grandmother, Toula P. Leventis of Columbia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James P. “Jimmie” Leventis.
