Forever in Our Hearts…

We had the opportunity to first meet mama Yin during PA school, and we were struck by her kindness, warmth, and quiet strength. We lived with Freda our second year of school, and whenever she came to visit she would share with us the most delicious food.  She made the best buckwheat noodles and dumplings! She also knew that we all loved to spend time cooking together in the kitchen, so she handmade all the roommates aprons.  We  think of her every time we use them. We are thankful for her life and memory, and we wish comfort for all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

I can’t believe that HuaiYin has left us forever!  My heart is filled with sadness and tears, but my memories are filled with smile and laughter! 

 I have so many impressive memories of HuaiYin in her smile and her beauty with generosity of spirit.  She was always care about others more than herself.                           I remember her cooking, her sewing, her dancing, and so many other things we shared with each other when we were kids.

HuaiYin, I miss you dearly, although we say goodbye now, your smile lives on in me!

怀樱不光是贤妻良母，而且长期关心照顾老人，是他们的好儿媳。她的离开，是家人、朋友们的悲伤，求神亲自安慰，保守，让家人在患难中仍然有平安：“我们仍要瞻仰神的荣美，在他的殿里求问。因为我遭遇患难，他必暗暗地保守我，在他亭子里，把我藏在他帐幕的隐密处，将我高举在磐石上。“（诗篇 27:4-5）

亲爱的小孃孃，那天半夜回上海前，和你分别的那一刻的场景永远地留在了我的脑海里。我知道可能再也不会相见了。 我出生时，你才十几岁，就开始担负起母亲的角色，照顾我，把我带大。后来你又帮助我去了美国留学，在美国帮我顺利的度过艰难时刻。我的儿子去美国读书，你又对他关心有加，让他在异国他乡有了家的感觉。你对我和我的家恩重如山，可惜我无以回报！多想请你来上海好好住上一段时间，好好的享福，可惜你走的太早，子欲养而亲不待，想为你做点什么都来不及了。。。 你一生都是为了他人着想，对家庭无私的奉献，辛苦了一辈子。希望你在天堂安息，只有快乐没有烦恼，我们会想念你的！

I never had the chance to meet Ms. Chen.  I regret this because I know how wonderful of a person she must have been.  This I know because she was the mother to a wonderful daughter with whom I’ve had the privilege to work for several years.  My hope, wish and prayer for all of you (her family) is for comfort and peace during this difficult time.

My wife, Chen, Huaiying, was born on June 5, 1953, in Shanghai, China. We registered our marriage on April 15, 1983. A little over a year later, our son, Yin Longda, was born. In 1985, I came to the United States for my studies, and she had to manage both work and taking care of our son on her own, which was quite challenging. A year later, she brought our son to the United States, and we were reunited.

At that time, to allow me to focus on my studies, despite working during the day, she took on all the household chores herself. It wasn't until 1995, after I found a job, that our family of four (our daughter, Yin, Fengda, was born in 1992) settled down in Columbia, South Carolina. Later, my parents moved in with us, and she devoted all her energy to our home. She was meticulous and patient in everything she did.

Before my father passed away, he mentioned that there were three important women in his life: his mother, my mother, and Huaiying. She was warm-hearted and always considered the needs of others first. Whenever friends visited us, she would prepare a lot of food to welcome them.

She was a talented seamstress, and friends even brought wedding dresses for her to alter. Even while working full-time, she continued her studies until she completed her degree.

On November 8, 2023, she passed away due to illness at the age of seventy.

我的妻子陈怀樱1953年六月五号生于中国上海。1983年四月十五号我们登记结婚。一年多后有了儿子殷龙达。1985年我来美国读书她一个人又要上班又要照顾儿子很是辛苦。一年后她带儿子来美国和我團聚。那个时候为了让我专心读书尽管她白天要打工还是将所有的家务活都包了下来。直到1995年我找到工作后我们一家四口（女儿殷凤达1992出生）才在南卡州的哥伦比亚市定居下来。后来我的父母搬来和我们一起住，她把所有的精力都放在了我们的家上。她做事精益求精而且很有耐心。我父亲生前对我说过他一身中有三个对他来说很重要的女人。一个是他的母亲，一个是我的母亲，一个是怀樱。她对人热情而且总是首先考虑到别人的需要。每次有朋友来看我们她都会准备很多食物招代朋友。 她是一位才华横溢的裁缝师，有朋友还专门拿了緍礼服让她改。既使在她全职工作的时候她还是继续学习直到她完成了她的学位。
2023年十一月八号，因病不治逝世，享年七十岁。

我是殷明的姐姐，怀樱是我的弟妹。怀櫻是一位有愛心的贤妻良母。他們是祖孫三代同堂。怀木嬰在這個大家庭里，不仅要照顧好孩子，還要照顧好老人的衣食住行。我父親喜歡吃甜酒釀，她學習會做給我父親吃。怀櫻有雙靈巧的雙手，經常幫老人做些或改改他們需要的東西。餐廳老闆也讓她幫忙做服務裝，她都樂意相助。誰有困讓她幫助，她都能伸出援手。她還能做一手好菜，經常做些點心和粽子送給親朋好友。她對孩子們十分關愛。在她的影響下，孩子們傢她一樣有愛心。懷櫻雖然走了，但她永遠活在我們的心里。怀櫻 你一路走好 ，上帝與你同在。
