Hazel Crockett Stewart

COLUMBIA Memorial service for Hazel Crockett Stewart, 86, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Stewart died Saturday, July 25, 2015. Born in Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Watson Crockett and Marion Watson Crockett. Mrs. Stewart was a medical administrative assistant for over 40 years at the VA Hospital. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening and was a member of Red Hatters. She was a member for almost 60 years at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church where she volunteered frequently. Surviving are her sons, Keith Stewart, Allen Stewart (Aimee) all of Columbia; and grandchildren, Greer, Hayes and Reid Stewart and Joshua Matthews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John D. Stewart and a sister, Esther Crockett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, 6500 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
