COLUMBIA A Mass of Christian burial for Harry Howard Wills, 96, will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with entombment following in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with visitations following until 7:00 p.m. Mr. Wills died Saturday, October 31, 2015. Born in Ansted W.Va., he was a son of the late Randolph Burroughs Wills, Sr. and Grace Ferguson Wills. He was a graduate of Marshall College and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a naval aviator flight instructor. Mr. Wills was the owner of Southern Table and Bedding since 1951 in Columbia and retired as a traveling salesman during his working career from Southern Cross Industries. He was considered to be a true gentleman by everyone. Mr. Wills loved golf and his family dearly. He enjoyed family vacations to Sea Island, Ga. and trips with his friends to Cloistor in Sea Island, Ga. Mr. Wills was a lifetime member of Columbia Country Club and a charter member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are his sons, H. Howard Wills, Jr. (Ahava) of Hawaii, Stephen R. Wills of Folly Beach; daughter, Karen W. Lanier (George) of St. Matthews; son, James B. Wills (Teri) of Greenville; daughter, Deborah W. Powell (Scott) of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jack W. Haile, Sr. of Myrtle Beach, E. McCall Wills of Hawaii, Harrison Wills of Wash., Meredith Wills of Greenville, Scottie Powell of Beaufort, Forrest Powell of Georgetown, Brian Wills of Greenville, Ramana Wills of Hawaii; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Haile of Myrtle Beach and Elle Wills of Colorado Springs, Colo. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Jeanette W. Wills; daughter, Joanne Ehrlich; two sisters; and a brother.
