COLUMBIA - Harry Genig, 64, joined his Lord and Savior Friday, December 23, 2011. Born in Buckeburg, Germany on October 1, 1947, raised of the Evangelical Lutheran faith. Son of the late Karl Genig and Emma Seredschun Genig. Brother to Dennis Genig and the late Linda Genig. As a Christian, his faith was very important to him. He enjoyed reading and sharing God’s word. He was a very good man, intellectual, humble, gentle, patient, loving, and caring, a good husband and provider, role model of living and being Christ-like to his daughter and grandsons. He was quiet, reserved and shy to a point. Anyone that had the opportunity to get to know him, could not help but love and respect him. Witty humor was an endearing trait, that was often more humorous, in a way that only he could accomplish. Despite his quiet reserve, he unknowingly impacted the lives of all that he came into contact with will. How he lived his Christ-like-life, will always be a model for us to follow. His memory will forever live in our hearts.
Surviving are his wife, Olive Kay Genig of Columbia; daughter, Karla Guilloty-Burns (Samuel) of West Columbia; grandsons, Diego Guilloty and Logan Guilloty. Also surviving are his brother, Dennis Genig (Martha) of Michigan; nephew, Joshua Genig (Abigail) of Georgia; nieces, Emily Willenbrock (William) of Oklahoma, Hannah Genig of Michigan; great-nieces, Emma Genig, Clare Genig. Mr. Genig is also survived by many loving extended family members.
