Gordon E Wright

COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Gordon Edward Wright, 86, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mr. Wright died Thursday, August 11, 2016. Born on February 9, 1930 in Austin, Texas, he was a son of the late Lewis Wright and Ruth Gordon Wright. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He retired after 30 years with civil service at Fort Jackson. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #317 and the Jamil Shrine Temple. He was also a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Surviving are his sister, Ruth Robson and niece, Jeanne Butts, both of Lynn Haven, Florida; and longtime family friend and caregiver, Petra “Petie” Bradley of Columbia.
