Gloria Jean Johnson

LEXINGTON - Gloria Jean Johnson, 55, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Jeannie was born on August 16, 1961 in Columbia, to the late Eugene Howard and Lucille Angel Johnson. As a loving and devoted mother, she was dedicated to raising her children, while cultivating her talents and reputation as an avid cook. As a loyal servant to her faith and confidante to her friends, she loved spending time with her family, especially in the sun. Jeannie is survived by her son, Justin Paul Taylor (Lauren) of Mount Pleasant; daughter, Emily Lauren Taylor of Lexington; two grandchildren, McClellan Rawls Taylor and StellaLuci Taylor; one expected grandchild, Thaxton Belle Taylor; sister, Linda Johnson Laird (James) of Isle of Palms; brothers, William Keith Johnson (Cindy) of Bluffton and Horace Dale Johnson (Teresa) of Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Elaine Johnson and Helen Johnson; dear cousin, Betty Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Larry and Wilbur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 44-A Markfield Drive, Charleston, SC 29407. Jeannie’s visitation will be at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Her funeral service will follow on Sunday, July 23 at 3:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
