Mr. Hagen died Friday, April 15, 2022. Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late Fay Willard Hagen, Sr. and Lenore Hill Hagen. A graduate of the University of South Carolina and an avid Gamecock fan, he worked at Tapp’s, Department store and Berry’s on Main as the display director. He was also a commercial artist who created logos, signs and artwork for the South Carolina State Fair, Town Theatre, Papa Jazz and many area businesses. He volunteered with the Federation Center of the Blind, where he read books for the blind weekly for many years. Bill also did many historical films for ETV, radio shows and even had a part in the movie “Chiefs”. In his spare time he enjoyed bird watching, going to the beach and watching sunrises and storms, doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. He was often asked to paint birthday cakes for family and friends, and they are still fondly remembered to this day. Bill loved classical music and Broadway shows, but mostly he loved his family and friends.
