My dear Evan it has been one year since I lost my first grandson today. About a week before you left us we were riding in the car having one of our talks and you asked me do I really believe there’s a heaven and I told you all the reasons why that God loved us so much and  why I believe there is indeed a heaven. 
I suspect now that you know so much more than we do; that the greatest joy in heaven is that we will all be together again. While we wait; we miss you and we think of you so often, we love you. 

Evan I miss you so much. I remember when we were going to a little concert  at Russian River you were about 5 I went to pick you up to carry you across the hot rocks and you told me oh no  granny you’re too old to carry me. You always held the door, you always cared. You never judged the poor, you took them into your home. We tried to convince you not to be used, but you never saw it that way, you just had a heart for those in need. 
You were appreciated by so many. God truly led your heart and when harm came to you took you home. Be happy my sweet grandson we all love you thank you for the time we had here, we will see you soon. 

I'm Hailey. Ej was a incredible person inside and out.  He was the friend you wanted to have for life.  My heart is broken for his family .  I remember when Ej & his friend Chris rode their bikes to my house. He knew how to put a smile on everyone's face he was the life of the party.  Ej made sure everyone was okay. We hadn't talked in years.  Last thing he said was I'm just waiving at people to see who would wave back it's funny I'm at the bar. That was his way of checking on me .  I miss you Ej. Rest Up Handsome. You were one of a Kind. 

This is one of the many beautiful memories I shared with Amy and Evan, we got to attend a Giants Baseball game and had a great time, I will miss him, tons of other memories have been experienced and that little boy turned into a wonderful man, we will miss you. XOXO

The first time we met Evan he was about 4 years old.  He was full of energy even then and loved wheels as his mom said.   He climbed up on our son Chris's Camaro and checked it out and would not get off.  He was so cute!  
Every time we were at family events he always hung with us and shared what was new in his life.  We always looked forward to seeing Evan because he was such a fun and loving guy!

I asked God for another sign that he'd taken Evan home with him. Papa and I were driving down the interstate when a big box truck drove up beside us. The young man driving had a hat, red hair a beard,  a ring like  he used wear on the left ring finger like he wore when he was serious about an old girlfriend;  and could have been mistake for Evan.  The side of the truck read.

Stay the course you will see them again,    God

Evan came to tell his mom, he could be anything now.  This time I guess he was a truck driver and came to deliver the message that I'd see him and all loved ones lost again.  God is good.

I've just recently met Evan as I live out of state.  My granddaughter Lila and I were leaving Evan's house and she cried the entire ride home, there was not consoling her, she loved him tremendously and he her.  They had a special bond, my grandchildren and my daughter will always have a whole in their hearts.

I know he's looking over my daughter and grandchildren now.

May he rest in the sweetest peace.

I remember when Evan got his first 2 wheel bike. It had training wheels and after about maybe an hour he wanted them off. He took off right away with no training wheels right away. Later that day he decided it wasn t big enough so he wanted to buy a bigger bike from the older boy next door. He had to jump up onto it from the steps on their porch to ride it. Which he did right away. Of course he was jumping hills soon after.  He never changed.  :)
