Hopkins - Funeral service for Emma Lee Anderson, 77, of 34 S. Crosshill Circle, will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 1, 2014, at New Light Beulah Baptist Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Anderson departed this life on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Born in Hopkins, she was a daughter of the late William and Mattie Smith Anderson. She was educated in the public schools of Richland County. Emma was a lifelong member of New Light Beulah Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and served on the Daughters of Mission until her health began to fail. She worked as a domestic engineer with the Cook and Sieling Families (Dorothy, Wehman, Ann and Hank). Emma was employed with Dunbar Funeral Home where she retired with 35 years of faithful service. She also worked for the Dunbar Family (John, Jane and Betsy), who loved and adored her as a member of their family. She was predeceased by her parents; one son, Jessie Anderson; seven brothers, Pompy, John, Albert, William Jr., Jessie, Leroy and Harry; two sisters, Lillie Mae Anderson Grant and Cillie Anderson Tilman. Emma leaves to cherish her precious memory and to celebrate her life, one son, Tommie (Regina) Anderson; one daughter, Lillie Bell (Leon) Anderson Jamison; sister, Laura A. Adamson; brother, John H. Anderson all of Hopkins; sister-in-law, Lizzie Anderson; daughter-in-law, Maggie Anderson both of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Juanita, Braylon (Michelle), Brandon, Bryant, Breona Emily and Jasmine; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; 3 special nieces, Debbie, Darlene, Celia; and numerous other nieces and nephews, families and friends, all who will greatly miss her.
