

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A Celebration of Life Service for Elizabeth Anne Mortimer McLean (also affectionately known as Beth), 51, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a two-hour visitation to follow. Mrs. McLean died on Friday, January 10, 2025. Born in Columbia, S.C., she is the youngest daughter of John Michael McLean and the late Wanda June Rivers McLean. Elizabeth graduated from Dreher High School; double-majored in psychology and criminal justice earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina; and earned a juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Elizabeth was the Chief Deputy County Attorney for Richland County where she was employed for more than 20 years. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, going to the beach, Disney, and all things Gamecock.
Surviving are her wife, Emma Louise Mortimer McLean; son, Oliver Farish Mortimer McLean; father, John Michael McLean; sister, Deborah “Deb” Lynn McLean; nephew, Stanhope Sifford “Ford” Spears III, all of Columbia, SC; nephew, Nathan Mortimer; niece, Natalie Fairbrace; brother-in-law, Terry Mortimer (Linda), all of England; father-in-law, Randy Clinton of Arkansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to her mother, Elizabeth was predeceased by her nephew, Phillip Fairbrace; sister-in-law, Sally Ann Mortimer; and mother-in-law, Margaret Mary Clinton.
The family wishes to thank Elizabeth’s many loving friends, coworkers, past and present, and all of those who came to know and love her.
