THE FINAL FLIGHT
Don't grieve for me,
For now I'm free,
I'm following path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard His call,
I turned my back and left it all,
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
But not burdened with times of sorrow,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now,
He has set me free.
So rejoice, no tears, just joy and happiness,
I’m free, no more hurting, no more pain, just joy.
Not How Did He Die,
But How Did He Live?
Not how did he die,
but how did he live?
Not what did he gain,
but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth,
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Nor what was his church,
nor what was his creed?
Was he ever ready,
with words of good cheer,
But he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready with Lord of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
