Mr. Duerr died at home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Born in New London, CT, he was the eldest son of the late Eben Duerr and Christine Weeks Duerr.
He served in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS SAUFLEY - 465 during the Cuban crisis. He worked as a Connecticut State Police Officer and as a Tool & Dye Maker for Electric Boat Groton, CT and Ridge Tool Cromwell, CT also Middletown Pratt & Whitney. He was a Life Member of VFW and served as Commander of Post 2138 Rocky Hill, CT and District 3 Commander. He was also appointed Natl. Deputy Chief of Staff VFW.
To Eben, his family and friends always came first. He did enjoy hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geraldine S. Duerr; sons, Eben Duerr III, and Steven G. Duerr; grandchildren, Steven G. Duerr, Jr., Casey Marie Duerr, Eben H. Duerr IV, and Nicholas B. Duerr with one great-grandson, Steven G. Duerr III and sisters, Judith Williams, and Carole Burdick.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Duerr and son, Scott P. Duerr.
