A graveside service featuring Military Honors will be held at noon Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel.
Earl was born May 30, 1935, in Perry County, KY to Arthur and Flora Adams. He attended Perry County schools where he played basketball and participated in other school activities. Following high school, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1955- 1959.
Advancements in his career brought him to Columbia, S.C. where he was a part of the founding team to establish Rockwell International. Earl was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and served his community as an officer in several HOA organizations. Most importantly, he loved his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joan Davis Adams; two daughters, Tammy Adams Stone, Melissa Adams; grandson, Adams Clarendon Stone; brother, Dana Adams (Rebecca) of Lexington, KY; sister-in-law, Yvonne Adams of Columbia, S.C.; nephews, Warren Cornett (Bobbie), Jonathan Adams, as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Glen Adams; sisters, Allene Cornett, Evangeline Friel, Geraldine Adams and his son-in-law, Daniel Clarendon Stone.
