Dr. Uhl died Thursday, April 25, 2024. Born at South Nassau Communities Hospital, Rockville Center, New York, he was the son of the late John George Uhl and Dorothy Schwer Uhl.
He served in the Navy as a LT Dental Officer and was Honorably Discharged. He received his BA from University of Pennsylvania and D.M.D at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. Dr. Uhl served as a Dentist in private practice, at Fort Jackson, and then for the SC State Prison System and the SC Department of Juvenile Justice.
He was a lay-eucharistic minister at Trinity Cathedral and Still Hopes.
He was known for his quick wit and dependability. He loved the simple things in life: church, family, walks in nature, dessert and taking care of animals.
Surviving are his son, Rev. Dr. John W. Uhl (Lydia); daughter, Dr. Jennifer U. Scott; grandchildren, Robert Wilder Uhl, John Vincent Uhl, Nathan William Uhl, Zoe Sophia Uhl, Elijah Rain Uhl, Evan Anthony Scott, and Caroline Ann Scott.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Maxie Christine Uhl.
