COLUMBIA - Doris McAlpin Bradley died Sunday, April 23, 2023. Dottie was born in 1936 in Savannah to the late Robert Footman McAlpin and the late Doris Peeples McAlpin. She graduated from the University of Georgia with an education degree. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. On the side, Dottie was secretary of the Savannah chapter of the Sports Car Club of America. She married Foster “Bullet” Bradley and they made their home and raised three children in Aiken. She was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church.
She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother, for her kind and caring nature, and for her steadfast belief in Jesus Christ as her savior.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Dr. Robert Foster Bradley, IV, a daughter, Melrose Bradley Ott (Curtis), a daughter, Susanne Bradley Lafaye (George), a son, Dr. Robert Foster Bradley, V (Shannon), seven grandchildren, McAlpin Lauren Ott, Curtis Lyman Ott, Jr., Wallace Bradley Ott, George Bradley Lafaye, Jennan Elaine Bradley, Brigit Marie Bradley, and Campion Christopher Bradley, and a sister, Barbara McAlpin Bozzay.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
