Diane graduated from AC Flora High School and worked as a preschool teacher for many years. She was always there for her children’s many activities while they were growing up and loved cooking big meals for her family. In most recent years, she enjoyed volunteering for St. Joseph Catholic Church, spending time with her grandson and was often found assisting neighbors and friends at her son’s local garden shop with her beloved dog, Pepper. She also enjoyed watching football (pulling for both USC and Clemson), decorating and seeing her longtime friends from dinner club.
Diane was the wife of the late James “Jim” C. McDougall and the daughter of the late Philip E. Watson Sr. and Mary M. Watson of Columbia. Surviving are her sons, James “Jimmy” C. McDougall Jr. of Simpsonville and Joseph E. McDougall of Columbia; her daughter, Collins McDougall of Columbia; her brothers, Philip “Flip” E. Watson Jr. (Karen) of Murphy, NC and Charles P.
