In the early morning of Sunday, March 5, 2023, God called Mr. Devon Enrique Kimble to eternal peace. Devon was born on March 25, 2000 in Columbia, South Carolina and was the oldest child of three children born to Tune Kimble and Veronica Martinez Kimble.
Devon was a product of Richland County School District Two in Blythewood, South Carolina, and was a 2018 graduate of Blythewood High School. While attending Blythewood High, Devon joined the Blythewood Football Team in which he was truly proud of being a Mighty Bengal.
After graduation, Devon became employed with their family business "Best Price Home Repairs and Renovations." Devon was also employed at Southern Valet in Columbia, South Carolina.
Devon knew the Lord and was baptized at an early age at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yakima, Washington. His mother was the apple of his eye and was affectionately called "Blue Eyes" by his mother and "Dev" by his friends. Devon loved his family! His brothers were his heart and he treasured all the special conversations and moments of fun and happy times they shared together. Devon enjoyed camping, four-wheeling and Kayaking with his father and his Boy Scout Troop #224. He also enjoyed spending time with his uncle Chris who gave him lessons of life to be strong and independent and to keep God first. His favorite professional football teams were the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens and he also enjoyed watching the University of South Carolina Men's and Women's Basketball teams and also Men's Baseball and Girls Softball Teams.
Devon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Mims and grandfather, Mr. Rafael Martinez.
Mr. Devon Kimble leaves to cherish his loving and precious memory: his parents, Tune and Veronica Kimble; two brothers, Dillon Kimble and Dalton Kimble both of Blythewood, S.C.; a grandmother, Mrs. Lupe Martinez of Yakima, Washington; eight uncles, Christopher Mims, Nicholas (Kim) Kimble, Tony Kimble, Anthony (Patricia) Crumpton, Orlando (Diane) Crumpton, all of Columbia, SC; Rafael (Eva) Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Jorge Martinez, all from Washington State; thirteen Aunts; Gwendolyn Mims, Wilhemina (Henzly) Parks, Latashia (Thomas) Dodson, Belinda Boykin, Rachel (Reginald) Phelps and Terri Maple, all of Columbia, SC, Zenaida (Hugo) Contreras, Christina Martinez, Maria (Julio) Rodriquez, Rosie Martinez (Dave Galindo), Zenaida (Hugo) Confreras, Irma (Juan) Martinez-Mendez, Angelica Martinez, all of Washington State, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation for Devon will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hard Scrabble Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29223. A funeral service will will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 100 Polo Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29223.
