Devin was born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of David A. Herlong and Lucinda D. Nates (David L. Herlong). Devin was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School. He always had new and exciting ideas and was the life of the party. He was an artist with a kind heart who would give you the shirt off his back. He never met a stranger. Devin was a wonderful son, brother, father, and husband. He was a cherished friend.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Amanda P. Herlong; his son, Jonah Alan Herlong; stepson, Evan Bailey Mathews; sisters, Amber Herlong (Lisa), Sarah Herlong, and Rachel Herlong; stepbrother, Michael Blanton; maternal grandmother, Lois Nates; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
