David was born January 10, 1951 in Hazelhurst, Ga. to Wilbur and Beverly Berryhill Williams. As a child, he spent much of his time with cousins and family making memories on his Aunt’s farm. His family also spent time in Germany where he developed an interest in model building.
A 1969 graduate of Dentsville High School, he went on to marry Judy Horton in 1973 and later began a career selling Life Insurance. Over the course of his life, he was a Chartered Financial Consultant and Life Underwriter, representing companies such as Prudential, Liberty Life, John Hancock, Jefferson Pilot Financial, Dempsey, American Capital Corporation, and Manulife Financial.
David was a dedicated member of Shandon Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was passionate about studying the Word and helping others interpret God’s scripture. David was blessed with a green thumb and loved creating a beautiful yard for others to enjoy. He will be remembered as an honest, fair, dependable man but most importantly, a devoted father who provided well for his family. He filled the home with love, laughter, stability, and pets; all centered on the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Judy Williams. Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Jimmy Williams and Christy Thomas (Jonathan); siblings, Susan Hudson, Mollie Branham (Moses), Billy Williams (Teresa) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Abundantly Blessed Sunday School Class for years of friendship and fellowship.
Flowers are greatly appreciated and memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Amedisys Hospice or to Pawmetto Lifeline.
