Connie my mother thought the world off you and respected you for how you faced each day no matter what was out there. There is a void on the planet without you. As with every loss there is a gain. The gain is all the family and loved ones that have gone before you are now again experiencing you love.

There are many words I could use to describe my nanny. The first that come to mind are fun, outgoing, witty, hard headed and hilarious! The most important is that she loved unconditionally. She had a sparkle in her that always brought a smile to my face when I would see her.  Her voice was calm and she always knew what to say. She would tell me stories about myself, my siblings and cousins over and over, but somehow they never lost their meaning. When she told a story is was because whatever it was touched her heart and those special moments filled her with joy. My nanny was a very strong woman, who helped raise me. She taught me many things and one of those things was to stay positive, never give up, always know you're worth it and never let anyone tell you different. She held my daughter in her lap hammock... a very special memory, planting gardens on her back like she had done for me growing up. I know Emerson loved her so much and we will both miss her more than I can say. I know you're where you've longed to be and I'm so happy you've been reunited with so many loved ones. Give hugs and kisses and one day, I will meet you again. I love you, Sunshine.

This dearly loved woman, made my life one exciting adventure after another.....when she would call I was ready. Our adventures took us from the northern  border to the southern tip of South Carolina. A part of my heart left, when Connie earned her wings....save me a seat, we shall ride again.......


I worked with Ms Walker in therapy later in life and I thought she was such a special lady.  I wish I could have known her earlier because she was a funny and interesting person who always smiled and made the best of everything.  I know she loved her family so much and I am praying for peace to her and her family.
