Christina Isabel Ferrer

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Christina Isabel Ferrer, 27, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. There will be a reception at the funeral home following the service.

Ms. Ferrer passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of Thania Maria Lama Ferrer and the late Reynaldo Ernesto Ferrer.

Christy worked and made her way through college on her own. She graduated from A.C. Flora High School and University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree. She was a caring soul who as a child had the devotion and loved helping children with autism, people with anxiety, depression, and grief. She loved animals and had an awesome green thumb to even revive dead plants.

Christy was very articulate, crafty and was about all things tie dye. She loved giving a touch of her designs or plants to everyone that crossed her path.

She was such a thoughtful, loyal friend and so much fun to be around. Christy had a way of making everyone around her feel special and like she was genuinely thrilled to see them.

She suffered some deep losses in her too short life.

The world has lost such a bright light. She was everyone's sunshine even when her skies were grey.

Surviving are her mother, Thania and her husband, Saleh Wafa; sister, Tammy Oches and her husband, Matthew, and their children, Hayden and Gavin; brother, Victor Alex Lemos and his wife, Paula, and their daughter, Fernanda; sister, Monique Ferrer and her husband, Fiorello and their children, Fiorello and Felipe; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
