Chris was born 1 November, 1970 in Plainfield, New Jersey. After graduating from Hunterdon Central HS, Chris attended Douglass College, from which she graduated in 1993. During the summer of 1994 she met her future husband, Dave, in Chamberlain, South Dakota, where they spent two weeks digging up fossils of giant sea turtles and crocodile-like marine lizards. They re-connected in Badlands National Park during the summer of 1995, when Chris worked at the "Big Pig Dig" excavating fossil horses, rhinos, and pig-like animals. They both attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where they each earned a MS in Paleontology. Prior to graduating, Chris accepted Dave's hand in marriage on 28 June, 1997.
Chris and Dave moved to upstate South Carolina in 1999, where both worked at the Campbell Geology Museum at Clemson University. In 2011, the family (son Morgan was born 2004) moved to Columbia, SC, where Chris joined the staff at the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina. During her time at USC, Chris was the Curator of Collections and responsible for curating, caring for, and researching the Museum's collection, and she planned and installed numerous exhibits. Chris also taught geology classes for several years as an adjunct lecturer for the School of the Earth, Ocean and Environment.
The internet isn't big enough for all of the other things that can be written about you, Christian. A beautiful, intelligent, strong, courageous, determined woman, an amazing wife, and devoted mother to Morgan. We cherish every memory of you, of our family dinners, our game nights, our times with friends and family, and our adventures to Ireland, Italy, and nearly every state in the US. You will be with us forever. We love you.
A celebration of Christian is being planned for later this year, when we hope family, friends, and colleagues can come to Columbia to share stories and reminisce about time together. In the meantime, fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dunbarfuneralhomedevine.com for the Cicimurri family.
