. COLUMBIA A Memorial service for Cathy Jane McBride-Bates, 57, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Cathy died Thursday, February 19, 2015. Born in Hobbs, N.M., she was the daughter of the late Buck and Janie McBride. She was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and the University of South Carolina. Cathy was a computer analyst for CSC and enjoyed working with crafts. Surviving are her friends, Bill Hopkins and Steve Ochocinsky-Hopkins both of Pelion. Cathy had a great appreciation for the staff and doctors of South Carolina Oncology.
