COLUMBIA - Caroline Elizabeth Bradham Graham, 89, of Columbia, SC died peacefully on March 4, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist after a brief illness. Born March 19, 1928 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Furman Randolph Bradham, Sr. and Bernice Catherine Carroll Bradham and widow of Col. Laurens Ragsdale Graham, USAR (Ret.).
A 1945 graduate of Columbia High School, Caroline went on to attend the University of South Carolina and was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She worked a number of years in the secretarial field and served as an executive secretary for both the American Cancer Society-South Carolina and Seibels Bruce and Company. Caroline was a long-time member of Shandon United Methodist Church and had just reached her 50th year as a member in October of 2017.
Caroline loved flowers and was an avid gardener throughout her life. When she could no longer tend to her yard, she continued potting flowers in planters that covered her patio spring and fall. With help from the staff at the Assisted Living facility, she was still was repotting plants from her wheel chair.
Survivors include her children, Catherine Elizabeth Graham Woods (James) of Columbia, SC and John Randolph Graham, MD (Jan) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Charles Jennings Woods (Kim) and Elizabeth Carroll Woods, both of Columbia, SC, and Bryan Randolph Graham and Caroline Louise Graham, both of Spartanburg, SC; one great-grandchild, Roth Christopher Woods, of Columbia, SC; In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Furman Randolph Bradham, Jr., and her son, Robert Laurens Graham.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Josh McClendon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the grave. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
