Burial will be private in Fort Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Taylor residence following the service.
Bobby was born July 22, 1946 in Atlanta to Raymond and Thelma Wright Taylor. He was a 1964 graduate of Benvenue High School and supported the alumni association. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he worked in Quality Control and Research until his retirement. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He attended First Baptist Church Columbia where he served as a greeter.
Bobby will be remembered as a jack-of-all-trades. He was the family historian as well as a Mr. Fix It.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Truett Taylor; two sons, Jason Taylor and Jonathan Taylor (Tammy); step-daughter, Rachel Johnson; 7 grandchildren, Olivia Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Stanley Belue-Taylor, Dalton Pierce, Eben Taylor, Hunter Belue, and Reid Taylor; and siblings, Marilyn Taylor Boone, Raymond Taylor, Ralph Taylor and James Taylor.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Pond Taylor, and a grandson, Skyler Powell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Big Red Barn Retreat, 8024 Winnsboro Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
