Barbara Owens

Chapin – Services for Barbara West Owens, 76, will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012, at 12:00 noon at Chapin United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 am until noon at the church. Memorials may be made to Chapin United Methodist Church Building Fund, 415 Lexington Ave., Chapin, SC 29036.

Mrs. Owens died peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2012. Born in Marion County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alex G. and Ida Young West. Mrs. Owens was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church. She loved her family with her whole heart and will be greatly missed. She loved volunteering at her church and fishing with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Lester Owens of Chapin; daughters, Lavone (Bobby) Roberson of Lexington and Marcia (Doug) Rogers of Chapin; grandchildren, Stephanie R. (Chad) Alexander, Alex Roberson, Corey (Sherri) Rogers, Travis Rogers; sisters, Frankie (Henry) Collins of Mt. Pleasant and Patsy Gregory of Conway and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, A.G. West.
