Mrs. Broadway died Saturday, November 19, 2016. Born on August 14, 1923 in Bari, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Stufano.
Anna moved to Westchester County, New York as a preteen. After building her home with her husband and raising her children in Pound Ridge, New York, Mrs. Broadway worked for, and retired from AT&T. She then moved to Columbia in 1989 to get away from New York’s ice and snow, and to be near her older sister, Grace, and her brother-in-law, Homer. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, played bridge with her senior friends, and regularly went dancing with her friends at many of the senior venues around Columbia. Each Friday night would find Anna seated in the front row of Bill’s Pickin’ Parlor where she enjoyed the live bluegrass music. Anna enjoyed eating out, but was especially fond of cooking a big pasta dinner with meatballs and bracioles for loved ones seated around her large dining room table. She loved her home, church, traveling, shopping, neighbors, and many friends in Columbia.
Surviving are her children, David B. Broadway (Mary), Joseph A. Broadway (Kay), and Orman G. Broadway (Carol); nine grandchildren, Patty Tappan (Mark), David Broadway (Michelle), John Broadway (Jackie), Mark Broadway (Jennifer), Gary Amon, Kevin Amon (Amy), Griffin Broadway (Meesha), Maria Broadway-Dyckman (Sean), and Brendan Broadway (Cassandra); ten great-grandchildren, Rachael Wilson (Hayes), Mathew Tappan, Caitlin and Michala Broadway, Barley Rue and Benjamin Broadway, and Juliette and Felicity Dyckman; sisters, Mary Carr-John and Josephine Pareti (Louis), brother, Eddie Stufano (Stella); fourteen nieces and nephews, Linda Longmire, Homer Hanberry (Gwen Cox), Tina Ott (Michael), Bob Carr (Laurel), Mike Carr (Kathy), Michael Pareti (Karen), Joanne Pinsker (Mark), Carol O’Conner (John), Linda Bernstein (Ari), Terry Murphy (Mike), Nancy O’Conner, Eddie Stufano, Michelle Pennino (Frank), and Christine Stufano.
