Born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, she was the oldest of 5 children, to Arthur Ray Owens and Sarah Nell Owens. Coming from humble beginnings, she took on a great deal of responsibility at an early age. This allowed her to develop a strong character, both creative and resilient. She was generous to all, a lover of kids, and a force behind the wheel of a car. She was accomplished in several fields, volunteered as a youth chaperone, and created gourmet meals out of seemingly thin air. Amy began her most cherished role in life as a mother to Jonathan Wayne Quesinberry. She then gave birth to Tonja Marie, Heather Amelia, and David Arthur. She played her role to near perfection, and we are all better for it. A loving spirit, sweet smile and endearing laugh. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Predeceased by her parents and oldest son, she is survived by her 3 remaining children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, 3926 Devine St, Columbia, South Carolina 29205. Following the gathering for family and friends will be a celebration of life from 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
