Born on August 17, 1993 in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of Rhonda S. Houghton and Christopher S. Wimberly. Amanda graduated from Spring Valley High School in June 2011 and attended Midlands Technical College while working as a pet groomer. She was kind, generous, had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved animals. Amanda loved her family very much. She made precious memories with her family, especially her sisters and her niece.
Surviving are her mother, Rhonda S. Houghton (Rich); father, Christopher S. Wimberly (Elizabeth King); sisters, Meagan L. Wimberly, Melyna C. Wimberly, and Calise A. Wimberly; maternal grandparents, Verldon and Linda Spence; paternal grandparents, Frederick P. Wimberly and Faye H. Wimberly; niece Lily L. Thompson; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 4219 Hardscrabble Road, Columbia. The family will receive visitors at her mother’s residence in Elgin immediately following the service.
