Alvin E Kelley

COLUMBIA Mr. Alvin “Al” Eugene Kelley, 80, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. Born in Eastover on July 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Hampton Taylor and Ola Medlin Kelley. Al graduated from Lower Richland High School and attended the University of S.C. He spent many years as a High School football official and was also a college official in the Major Independents League. He was owner of ATM America prior to his retirement. He was a fifty year member of Shandon United Methodist Church and was an Usher Team Captain for many years. Al is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Brannen Kelley; his sons, Gene Kelley (Christine), Paul Kelley; two grandchildren, Regan and Matt, all of Columbia; a sister, Mary Frances Barnhart of Randleman, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, H.T. Kelley Jr., LeRoy Kelley; and a sister, Ola Belle Walker. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Shandon United Methodist Church, with visitation following the service.
