Alex Montgomery passed into the care of the Lord on March 8, 2015. Alex’s greatest love in life was his affinity for children and his passion was assisting them whenever he could.
Alex was born Alexander Warren Montgomery on October 26, 1973 and grew up in Columbia, S.C. He developed an avid interest in sports while attending school. This interest never left him for the rest of his life and he could always be counted on to be at Clemson football games. He was a graduate from the Calhoun Honors College, Clemson University. His love for Clemson was exceeded only by his love of children. One year after completing his studies at Clemson, Alex entered Seminary at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. He was a servant of God all his life.
To say that attending football and baseball games at Clemson was a calling for Alex would be an understatement. He loved tailgating and was always welcome at every party. He could always be counted on to bring laughter and cheerfulness to others. His devotion to Clemson was unequaled amongst his peers.
For the last ten years Alex has returned to the practice of engineering working for Terracon. He was licensed as a professional engineer in the field of Civil Engineering.
Alex is survived by his parents, Arthur and Cecelia Montgomery; brother, David (Crystal); niece, Katelynn; nephews, Austin, Tyler and Spencer Montgomery; and innumerable uncles and cousins.
Alex is sorely missed by his friends and family. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation on their website at www. epilepsy.com/connect or to a charity of one’s choice.
