Lanair was born on January 13, 1955 and raised in Turbeville, SC. He was the son of the late Leslie A. Coker and Nell F. Coker. He attended East Clarendon High School. Lanair worked at Wellman Inc. for many years and recently retired from 301 Auto Parts. Lanair enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Lanair is survived by his sons, Reed (Kaitlyn) Coker and Zachary (Katherine) Coker and their mother, Lucia Welsh Coker; a sister, Linda (Vinroe) Mims, a brother, Legrand (June) Coker; a niece, Shana (Terry) Welch and a great niece, Grey Welch. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Greg Mims.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 29 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Turbeville, SC. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary and other times at 1060 Mamie Kinney Lane, Turbeville, SC 29162. Memorials may be made to Pine Grove UMC or Olive Grove Church Cemetery Fund in Turbeville.
