Vernon Taylor, age 62 of Foxworth, MS passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Bogalusa, LA, and was longtime employed in the tree logging field and most recently with Looks Great Services as a tree trimmer. Vernon was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his sons, Dale Taylor, and Sammy Taylor; parents, James Taylor and Lorene Miley Taylor; and a sister, Patsy Martin. He is survived by his fiancée, Sue Stringer of Foxworth; three daughters, DeeDee Woodward of Lucedale, MS, Kristie “Sugar Baby” McDonald, and Bekka McDonald, both of Taylorsville, MS; a son, Josh McDonald and wife, Angie of Taylorsville; three sisters, Lille Mae Jutz of Jeffersonville, ID, Loretta McCain and husband, AC. of State Line, LA, and Bernice Miller and husband, James of Angie, LA; three brothers, Douglas Taylor and wife, Elvie of State Line, LA, Wesley Taylor and wife, Lisa of Long Beach, MS, and Sidney Taylor and wife, Paula of Foxworth; six grandchildren, Crystal Woodward, Charlie Sharp, Martha Thomas and husband, Jeremy, Addison McDonald, Kinley McDonald, and Kylie Thompson; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, MS where friends may visit with family from 1:00pm until service time. Reverend Jason Skipper will preside over services and interment will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery in Foxworth assisted by Lance Purvis, Davis Letchworth, Eli Cook, Dalton Raynes, Dylan Raynes, and Shawn Coleman serving as pallbearers.
