Troy Daniel Blackwell, of Foxworth, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born in Walthall County and has been a lifelong resident of Marion County. Troy Daniel married the love of his life on March 12, 2000. From traveling on vacations or sitting on the porch watching squirrels or Buck, the horse, they enjoyed spending their days together. One of his greatest joys was spending time with "his boys," Shannon, William, and Hunter. From the hay fields to the cross country courses or the rodeo arenas.
He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Buck and Lois Blackwell; one sister, Sheila Blackwell; and one brother, Ronald Blackwell. Troy Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Janice Blackwell; Shannon Stringer, whom he loved as a son, and his wife, Charlotte; two grandchildren, William Allen Stringer and Hunter Troy Stringer; a brother, Scotty Blackwell and his wife, Vonda; a sister-in-law, Judy Pittman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service, officiated by Doctor Ronnie Morgan, will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 4:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00pm until service time. Troy Daniel will be laid to rest in Baxter-Pittman Family Cemetery. Robert Blue, Levi Blue, Allen Stogner, Keith Stringer, Heath Nobles, and Willie Stogner will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in Troy Daniel's honor be made to Turnage Chapel Church 483 Turnage Chapel Road, Foxworth, MS 39483.
