Tim Magee, age 55 of Foxworth, MS passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Angie, LA. He was born in Tylertown, MS and had been a longtime resident of Marion County. Tim was employed 35 years with Hood Industries and was a highly valued employee because of his work ethics and ability to operate all machinery. He was a member of Carson Springs Baptist Church and loved helping people, especially the elderly. Tim was also dedicated to his family. Over the years, he looked out for his baby sister and in recent years, his children and granddaughter. There are so many stories that could be told as he loved motorcycles, ice cream, Mountain Dew, and “leftovers” – we affectionately called him “Hoover”. He will be sorely missed. Whenever Tim would greet someone, it was with salutations like “My Lady”, and “What’s a Happening?”, so it’s only fitting we say the same as he has many times before leaving, “Stay Sweet” Tim, “Stay Sweet”.
Mr. Magee was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Bessie Rea Magee; and a brother, Ricky Magee. He is survived by his daughter, Tiara Culpepper (Travis) of Columbia; a son, Mikey Magee of Columbia; his sister, Karesa Pittman (Kendall) of Foxworth; and a granddaughter, Tahlia Culpepper.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Carson Springs Baptist Church in Sandy Hook, MS. Funeral services will begin at 3:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the church with Reverend Carl Dickens, Reverend Nate McKenzie, and Reverend Jerry Terrell presiding. Interment will follow at Carson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Ricky Lowery, Raymond Lee, Marty Breland, Daniel Ford Turnage, Brian Thomas, Lavelle Stringer, Bob Stogner, and Jamie Magee, and Greg King.
Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
